Ash Wednesday

Day of Prayer March 6th

10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten Season. Lent is a season for many of us we have experience many times over. What will make this Lent different than any other Lent? Each year we are reminded of the call to give alms, to spend more time in prayer and fast. In addition this year, we are challenged to LISTEN to the word of God with a new attitude. As we sing: “Change our hearts this time, your word says it can be. Change our minds this time, your life could make us free. We are the people your call set apart, Lord, this time change our hearts.” What does it mean for you to sing and pray with the desire to “change your heart”?

Mid-Lenten Day of Prayer

“The Pummeled Heart -
Finding Peace through Pain”

Wednesday, April 3rd

10:00 am to 3:00 pm

St. Augustine said: “When I am dissolved in the pain of God and become one with him in pain, it is pure joy and there can be no greater happiness in me.”

Do you see a value to suffering or the struggles of life or does suffering serve no purpose in your opinion?

The word “pummeled” is a strong word and the feelings around it are even stronger. In what way do you take the sufferings/struggles in your life and unite them to the suffering of God therefore find meaning and purpose?
